Country house by India Mahdavi
Wednesday, 25 February 2015
I have been a big fan of a Paris based interior designer India Mahdavi for a while now and seeing this converted barn designed by her, I love her even more! I am guessing this house is used by the owners as a summer property to get away from the craziness of NYC and it looks perfectly well designed for this purpose!
How amazing is still high ceiling space opening to the garden and pool? What else would you possible need in the summer? The painted wood creates a casual look that makes the space feel "at ease" and relaxing and the wicker chairs are inviting to sit on.
This living room is one of my favorite spaces ever! It is both welcoming and elegant with beautiful bespoke furniture and a 70's feel. I love the shape of the yellow sofas and how the designer created the harmony in the room using all the furniture pieces in pairs. Only the fun coffee table adds a calculated perfect imbalance.
And this bathroom, just look at the mirrors and the beautiful marble floors, so pure and simple without being boring!!

The dream farm
Tuesday, 12 August 2014
I found this beautiful pictures on the Domaine website yesterday and I have to agree it is the most stylish farm I have ever seen!! Although the house has a lot of typical country house features, the Asian influences make it so much more interesting and fun! Such a perfect summer house!!
What do you think?

I have to say that this is one of the most unusual cottage/country houses I have ever seen.
Hidden somewhere in Connecticut, US, this precious belongs to Samantha Knapp, TV reporter turned decorator in her parents Interior Design company Tiger Lily's.
Eclectic is a work but it doesn't quiet reflect the style of the house. Samantha managed to keep the rustic, country like feeling of the place.
I admire her courage in using different colors, prints and styles, that proves and risk is worth taking!
The whole house tour available here.
Do you like it? Or do you prefer more traditional country house style?
xx
