I loved this loft featured on Domaine, designed by Caitlin McCarty Design, it's a perfect mix of quirky and feminine! It's all open space with grey walls, exposed brick and really chic furniture.The designer mixed different metals (nickel chairs and gold tables and consoles) with soft, inviting fabrics on upholstery - the loft seems fairly small and I like the idea of using the day bed as a sofa a lot!
My favourite bit is definitely the entrance though with edgy lamps and beautiful art that really stands out against the grey walls!
I love looking at portfolios of US based interior designers, I love the style and how they always seem to mix the traditional with contemporary really well. European interiors can be a a bit too contemporary or quirky to my taste or going for just one style and stick to it. One of the reasons I like this loft designed by Alexandra Kaehler is the mix of styles- there is the feeling of spaciousness you would expect from the loft but as the brick walls are paired with soft fabrics, patterns and a lot of different finishes, the whole look soft and inviting.
This loft , designed by DHD (interiors Steffani Aarons) is a rare example of a an interior that is contemporary but still feels cozy and warm. Despite a lot chrome details- on sofa's legs, lamps and chairs, the use of natural fabrics and materials like marble fireplace and rattan chaise evens the space out. I love the use of the pattern fabric on the contemporary chair and the coziness of the more traditional looking chair in the corner of the living room. I also love the use of 2 different types of windows right next to each other- the black French looking with cut-ups and very modern white terrace door - definitely a strong visual point that perfectly blends the traditional with contemporary.
