life
Welcome back in 2016, Happy New Year!!
I have a feeling it's going to be a good one!
I have a couple of resolutions including getting back in shape and eat healthy, finish as much school modules I can, spend more time with family, travel to at least 5 different new places and not to complain (my personal challenge, not that I am a big complainer but I hate when people do it and don't want to be one of them) and generally make the most of life and say yes to more new things and get out of my comfort zone more!
Hope I stick to mine and good luck with yours!

The weekend is upon us FINALLY and I thought it would be a good idea to share some great movies I recently saw and loved in case you are planning to spend it under covers.
Each one of them is different but all of them really good and I am sure you will enjoy them no matter if you watch them with friends or on a date.
Let me know if you have any for me, I will make sure to will find some time to watch it this weekend!

Love, Rosie
A lovely story about 2 friends who keep missing each other in love.

Begin again
Keira Knightley plays a girlfriend to a rock star (Adam Levine ladies!) who tries to make it on her own.

50/50
Not so depressing story about a guy who tries to beat cancer.

I walk the line
Johny Cash moving biography with amazing music and actors. It will leave you with a playlist you can’t get enough of.

Obvious Child
Bittersweet and very funny story about 20 something New Yorker who falls pregnant and tried to deal with it.

The Spectacular Now
Highschool love story, yet very different to what you think it is. More “500 days of Summer” than “She’s all that”

Some of you might know that I have recently (2 weeks ago) started the Online Interior Design Diploma in the KLC school.
I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys in case any of you is thinking about enrolling! So here it is.
First of all, after the first 2 weeks I have to say I am really impressed and happy with the quality and approach of the course.

The first section covers a lot of practical aspects from technical drawings to building regulations which is essential to learn but also focuses on the creative expression and establishing your personal style which is a lot of fun. One of the first assignments is to create a personal style board which I am working on at the moment which starts with keeping a personal journal with everything that I like and find inspiring. I found it really useful.

I am not a complete novice when it comes to interior design which definitely helps understanding the content of the material and kind of glues everything together but it will also make sense for someone who is just starting up but really passionate.

It is definitely a professional course, rather then a "hobby" course and it takes a lot of dedication and time (at least 18 months to finish) so make sure you are ready to give up some of your free time for it. I have been so far spending every day of the week studying so it really feels like uni, even if it's done from home.

I will post more once I submit my first assignment but feel free to ask me any questions in the comments below xx

Hi guys, I am off to New York tomorrow which is a dream come true and will be an amazing holiday!!!
I couldn't be more excited! That means I won't be blogging until the 15th of September but follow me on INSTAGRAM for my NYC adventures and check for new design posts on MadebyGirl!

Love xoxo

I don't usually make any New Year's Eve resolutions, but I always try to look at the upcoming year as a new challenge and occasion to achieve more and grow, as a person and career wise as well.
I managed to do everything I wanted in 2013 and it looks like a good luck is on my side for now.
I planned to move to London and start my interior design course which I did, both, one after another in April and September.
I looked for a job that will let me grow and learn and be rewarding and fulfilling in the same time and after a straggle, interviews and working as a sales assistant for a brief while I finally did.

I moved to London with nothing with a dream to work in the interior design field and it starts to work out for me. I guess when you are really passionate about something, believe in yourself and don't take a "no" for an answer, the universe works its way to help you. I don't say I am there yet completely but I am happy to have a chance to prove myself and work my way up.

This year resolutions are more plans as well than wishes or promises and I am going to do everything I can to achieve them. I am not worrying, I feel this year is going to be amazing:

1. Expand and grow this blog.
Starting out in the blogs world is a hard work and I feel like, even that I try to post as much as I can, I still don't do it often enough and the posts are not always perfect and it frustrates me a lot. So this year I will try to post at least 5 days a week and in addition to inspirational posts include more of my original projects. (Which is connected to the resolution number 2). Also, I think it is time to invest in a serious, professional blog layout so there are changes to come that I am really excited about.

2. Grow the portfolio.
I am currently working on some projects, including my sister's bedroom and my own and hopefully this year there will be more to come. I promise to document, photograph and share everything in here and any of your feedback and thoughts will be much appreciated!

3. Learn as much as possible.
Every field is demanding and requires relentless getting new skills and knowledge and it is definitely a case of interior design. So this year is all about getting them, reading, explore, watching, seeing, admiring and experiencing, taking drawing, Autocad and fabric printing classes and make the best of how amazing London is in terms of interior design.

I tell the kids this all of the time...I'd rather spend money on adventures then materialistic items that will mean nothing to us in a few years. Memories...those are what I live for. Making them and reflecting on them.
4. Travel.
I find travelling very resourcing and inspiring, not of course to mention the relaxing part. I want to visit at least on of the European capitals that I didn't see yet this year and finally go to NYC.

5. Live life to the fullest.
And by that I understand enjoying every single moment of it, not to worry too much, spend more time with the people I care about and show them more love.
Spending more time out, not to put anything for tomorrow and don't be afraid to be myself. Speak up when I don't like something and try to express my feelings better. I won't hesitate too much and follow my heart. And remember that what I think and feel matter as much as what other think and feel.
I will try to be always honest with others and myself and take decisions that are the best for me. Oh and yes, don't worry at all what other people think about my decisions and choices, just do what makes me happy and what I believe in. Be the person I would like to have for a best friend. Love more, worry less, laugh more and show more kindness to people. Let myself go. Be silly. Appreciate what people do for me and recognize true friends. Stay away from the fake ones. I'll surround myself with positiveness and always hope for the best.

What are your 2014 resolutions? I wish you to have the best year of your lives! With love, Monika

I hope you guys had an amazing Christmas and you could spend this time surrounded by family and friends!
I spent mine with my family in France, eating snails and fois gras and it was one of the nicest Christmases!
Hope you are ready for this New Year coming soon with new challenges and surprises, I am looking forward to it!
Love

So it's finally happening guys, I start my Interior Design course today! I am more than excited and a little nervous, it has been my dream for a while now and I am so happy I made it happening for myself. I will attend the Interior Design School in Queen's Park and I will be more then happy to share my impressions, work and progress with you guys!
In a meanwhile here is a little list of things I will need:

1. A notebook. The first thing on the list sent by the school and obviously every student  first thing to buy. I LOVE this monogrammed notebook from LetterLoveDesigns on Etsy. Different colours and monograms to choose from, I want it!
2. A roomy bag. To hold all this stuff and more.
3.A Starbucks VIP card for all skinny hazelnut lattes I will get there.
4. New Iphone cover-ok, not essential but would look sooo good next to my ear.
5.Sketching paper and colored pencils (7) So excited to practice my drawing skills soon.
6. File boxes to keep everything organized at home.
8. Good desk lamp -loving this one from Haus Interior
10. I will have to think about a subscription to my fave interior design magazines: Elle Decor, House & Garden, AD to always keep updated and it's a great inspiration source as well.

Wish me luck now xxx

It happened. I officially moved to London. Last week was crazy, I wouldn't stop packing and going out to see all of my friends before I leave and working at the same time. But it's all behind me now and it's about time to start a new life in London!

That's an awesome welcome!!!! :)

ps. please ignore my tired face!

Heyyy, with a 21st of March today, we can officially say that the winter is over! Finally!! I hope that the weather will obey the calendar this year and will not surprise us with an extra snow! I could not survive that after several months with surprisingly few sunlight, even for Paris.
Well let's hope we will be finally able to enjoy some beautiful days! I am so excited about the walks, warm weather, sun, colours, pastels and everything else Spring brings with it!
Spring is my favourite time if the year, even if I love the other 2 (sorry winter) and it's all about hope and fun. This spring is going to be a major change for me because I am moving to London the very next week.
I am a little stressed about the whole moving thing, trying to get everything done until I go and about job research bu I am mostly happy and excited about the new adventures and opportunities.
I am spending Easter Sunday with my family in Paris and then au revoir Paris, hello London!
Wish me good luck!
Are you making any major changes in your life this Spring??

Si vous aimez les objets vintage, chinés, industriels ou chabby chic, il faut que vous alliez faire un tour chez "The House Factory"!

Hello Twix au beurre de cacauette, Dr Pepper et les Reeses. I am realizing that a lot of my friends are in this point in life when they are trying to find themselves and chose their path in life. Changing jobs or even moving far far away to find the happiness and achieve their goals.
I believe that if you never give up and work hard enough, you can really make it out there.
Don't let anyone tell you that you can't. So for my friends and everybody out there that are fighting for their dreams, some positive quotes today. <3
